Exceptions Apply
A graceful dignified exit is the rule. But as in any rule, exceptions apply. When your relationship was completely destructive, physically, psychologically and emotionally, simply make a clean, decisive break. Tell him that you want out in a straightforward manner and walk away completely and forever. Forget about extending your hand in friendship.
